Fudgie is a sweet, soft-hearted beagle who sees the world with wide, wandering eyes — and just a touch of worry. He startles at sudden sounds, hides from new faces, and thinks twice (or maybe three times) before stepping into unknown places. He’s the kind of pup who might jump at the sound of a vacuum cleaner or tiptoe past suspicious-looking cardboard boxes. The world feels big and sometimes a little scary to Fudgie — but don’t let his timid nature fool you — underneath that cautious little heart is a dog full of joy, affection, and a playful spirit.

Once Fudgie feels safe, his true personality shines. He greets the people he trusts with a wagging tail and quiet cuddles, and his favorite place to be is right next to someone who makes him feel safe. He may be slow to come out of his shell, but once he does, you’ll find a spunky, affectionate pup who just wants to love and be loved.

Fudgie has been our family dog for 12 years, but he does pick favorites.  Braden, the boy he has grown up with,  is Fudgie’s best friend and the one he stays most loyal to.

He’s a bundle of beagle charm, with floppy ears, a wiggly tail, and a nose that’s always curious (even if it leads him into something new and a little scary). He loves cozy corners, magic dances of back scratching, and the sheer joy of peanut butter kisses.

Fudgie may be afraid of a lot, but he never lets fear stop him from loving big. He’s proof that even the most timid hearts can be the bravest when it comes to kindness.

How did Fudgie

get his name?

A name as sweet as the cake he was named after...As a young child, Braden loved Little Debbie Fudge Round cakes more than life itself. One was packed away in his lunch box every day, and often Braden was found sneaking one into his tummy before supper as well. Therefore, when Fudgie came along and resembled the color of Fudge Rounds, the name found its perfect match in him. Fudge Round is his name, but Fudgie for short. He answers to both!
